You can control the heat in this Jalapeno Salsa recipe by controlling the jalapeno seeds. The more seeds you include in the salsa, the hotter it will be. If you prefer mild, seed the jalapenos before making this salsa.
What You Need
1 tablesoon olive oil
3/4 cup chopped jalapeno
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 cups seeded, peeled, chopped tomato
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon chopped green olive
Salt to taste
What To Do
1. Heat olive oil in a medium skillet, then add jalapenos, garlic and onion. Saute until the onion is soft, but not browned - 3-5 minutes.
2. Add tomato and cook until tomato is very soft (about 5 minutes).
3. Add remaining ingredients and cook another 2 minutes. Add salt to taste, if desired.
4. Remove from heat and pour into bowl. Let stand at least 30 minutes. Stir well before serving.
