What You Need
4 1/2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups milk
Topping
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
What To Do
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Sift flour, then add baking powder, salt, sugar, and sift all together three times.
3. Cut butter into dry ingredients.
4. Separately, beat egg whites until still, add to mixture, then add yolks and milk, beating after each addition.
5. Pour batter into two square pans that have been greased.
6. Bake for 20 minutes.
7. Remove and crumble topping mixture over cakes; replace in oven for another 10 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
