Applesauce Cookies Recipe

This Applesauce Cookies recipe yields approximately 48 cookies.
What You Need
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup chopped raisins
• 3/4 cup chopped nuts
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
What To Do
1. Preheat oven to 375F and grease your baking sheet.
2. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add applesauce and blend.
3. Sift flour. Add baking soda, salt and spices to flour and sift again, then add sifted ingredients to shortening mixture and stir until smooth.
4. Add raisins and nuts.
5. Drop onto baking sheet approximately two inches apart.
6. Bake approximately 12 minutes.
