Mason-Style Chili is named for the Central Texas town where it originated. Mason, of course.
What You Need
2 lb. ground beef
2 teaspoon salt
1/3 tablespoon cumin
1/2 tablespoon paprika
1/3 tablespoon garlic powder
1 large onion, finely chopped
1/4 tablespoon black pepper
3 tablespoon chili powder
1 small can tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
What To Do
1. Brown ground meat, then add onion, pepper and other spices, plus tomato paste.
2. Add enough water to make gravy, but don't go overboard!
3. Simmer until meat is tender.
That's it! This chili freezes well and if you want to make a lot at one time, it keeps well in deep freeze.
