Baxter's Cornbread Recipe

This Baxter's Cornbread recipes makes 18 pieces.
What You Need
1 cup lard
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cups cornmeal
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
What To Do
1. Preheat oven to 450F and grease a 13x9x2 baking pan.
2. Combine lard and sugar and beat well.
3. Add eggs and beat well.
4. Separately, sift together remaining dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, alternating with milk (start and end with dry ingredients).
5. Spoon batter into prepared ban; bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
