Cheddar and Dill Cornbread Recipe
What You Need
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1 cup skim milk
3 egg whites
1/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt
What To Do
1. Preheat oven to 425F and spray a 9x9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cornmeal, cheese and dill and mix well.
3. Separately, combine egg whites, milk and yogurt; mix well, then add egg white mixture to dry ingredients. Stir just until the batter is moistened (batter will still be lumpy).
4. Pour into the prepared baking pan and bake 14-17 minutes, or until light golden.
